My web 2.0 tool of choice was Sony’s myplay. I choose it because I love music and I thought it would be a fun tool to use as I grow for this class. Music is a vital part of fun learning. This is at the forefront of my AR Project. When I looked up the site, I found it easy to navigate. I was able to clearly see what I was able to do there. The tabs for Home, Artist, Videos, Music, Photos, Shop, Mobile and My profile were easily posted.
I started by searching for Sting, a personal favorite. Sting was not found. I was very disappointed by this. For a music site not to have a living legend like Sting made it frankly loose some credibility in my eyes. I saw in stead Sade listed and clicked on the link. Although they had a dated picture of her, from a previous CD, they did have information on her latest work and the “making of the video” link to her latest CD project. So I was encouraged to remain with the site.
After tooling around through the site and registration, I saw that this could be a one-stop shop place for all things music. My only concern is that they would have all the musical artist that I use. Therefore I might favor a site like ITunes instead of myplay. But in general because it’s easy to navigate and has current information and fair access to artist information, I would continue to explore it. I did see JMoss, a lesser known, Gospel artist was listed so that gives me hope.
